A noted pianist, composer and arranger, Thierry Maillard has
long cultivated a dream: that of recording with great bands. In 2018,
this not-so-cold-eyed adventurer assembled his first big band for an
album that was rightly praised, Pursuit of Happiness. Not content with
having pushed the limits of his music, this tireless creator decided to
go even further on his new production. "I wanted to offer something
stronger and crazier," he explains. The result ? Zappa Forever, a double
album as inflated as it is finished, inspired by the unclassifiable
American who disappeared in 1993. "I discovered his music at the age of
14-15 years through a guitarist friend who also listened well Led
Zeppelin than Queen or Frank Zappa. "
